This is a day to learn about bats and the many good things about them.

A Few Bat Facts...

• Bats help keep the insect population down. Some bats can consume up to 1200 mosquitos an hour
• Some bats can consume their body weight in insects in one night
• Bat droppings/guano is an excellent fertilizer
• There are over 900 species of bats
• Bats are the only mammals that can fly
• Bats can live over 30 years
• Bats can fly up to 60 mph

A Few Ways to Celebrate Bat Appreciation Day...

1. Read about bats.
2. Watch a video on bats.
3. Sit outside in the early evening and watch for bats.
